PROGRAM

The INBOUND PROGRAM is an online startup accelerator program to help foreign entrepreneurs to expand their business into Tokyo by providing networking opportunities with startups and companies in Tokyo. In 2025, we are looking for startups in two business domains: Mobility and CleanTech.

This program provides the following 3 types of support to overseas startups aiming to enter the Tokyo market.

Lecture
Lecture sessions about necessary knowledge for expansion into Tokyo from experts.

Lecture topics (examples)
・Lectures on IP rights, regulatory landscapes and various methods of creating an entity in Tokyo
・Lectures on hiring talent as an international startup within the Tokyo market and managing talent
・Brush–up lectures on pitch deck and pitch contents
・Lectures on the trends and characteristics of the Tokyo market for each business domain
・Talk session from a senior entrepreneur with an international startup who have entered the Tokyo market to speak on their experience
・Introduction of incubation facilities in Tokyo where international startups are able to conduct PoC or have temporary coworking spaces

Event
Pitch events for companies in Tokyo and exchange events with startups from Tokyo will be held to provide opportunities for collaboration.

Mentoring ・Business Matching
Mentoring by experienced business professionals and business matching with companies and VC in Tokyo as potential collaborators and funding sources will be provided.

Mobility Course
Support period:

In Mobility Course, we are looking for startups providing products or services related to the movement of people and such as semiconductors, driver assistance system components, EVs, batteries, mapping, telematics, transportation systems, MaaS, logistics and drones, etc.
Application Requirements
  1. Must be an overseas startup (a startup without an office in Japan)
  2. Must be an unlisted company
  3. Operating business in Mobility
  4. Have a specific business plan for expanding business into Tokyo
  5. Have a track record of overseas expansion or collaboration with other companies.
  6. Have an organizational scale sufficient to commit to overseas expansion.
  7. Have a team structure that allows participation in all program activities
    (participation by one person is acceptable, but a substitute should be available in case of absence).
  8. Have a business level of English proficiency
  9. Attendees must possess decision-making authority related to management or possess those in charge of overseas expansion.
  10. Be able to participate in an Online Interview if the applicant passes the first screening.

In CleanTech course, we are looking for startups developing products and services that reduce or eliminate negative environmental impacts and contribute to the effective use of natural resources and related to Energy/electricity, resources/environment, agriculture/food/waste, materials/chemicals, realization technology, etc.
Application Requirements
  1. Must be an overseas startup (a startup without an office in Japan)
  2. Must be an unlisted company
  3. Operating business in CleanTech
  4. Have a specific business plan for expanding business into Tokyo
  5. Have a track record of overseas expansion or collaboration with other companies.
  6. Have an organizational scale sufficient to commit to overseas expansion.
  7. Have a team structure that allows participation in all program activities

*Online interviews will be conducted by external judges for companies that have passed the 1st step Screening. Applicants will be notified separately of the schedule for the Online Interview.
