INBOUND PROGRAM
Pitch EventX-HUB TOKYO, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, provides information to enter overseas markets, opportunities for networking, mentoring, and pitches with major companies and venture capitalists for Tokyo-based startups, and will support the creation of the new normal through interactions between overseas startups and local companies.
The INBOUND PROGRAM Pitch Event invites overseas startups from 2 domains (Mobility, Food/AgTech) with novel and unique products/services to pitch to our Japanese audience interested in collaborating with global startups.
We look forward to participation from VCs, CVCs, large corporations and those who seek to create a business partnership with these startups.Mobility: December 17, 4:00-5:15pm

How to Win Overseas Customers~Make Effective Use of Exhibitions!~The X-HUB TOKYO project, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to support the global activities of startups in Tokyo and revitalize the economy of Tokyo while fostering a startup ecosystem through exchanges with startups from overseas that are active globally. The Overseas Expansion Seminar is composed of four sessions in total and is mainly targeted at startups aiming to expand their businesses overseas. Through the seminar, we will share the characteristics of ecosystems by area and the knowledge necessary for overseas expansion.
In the #4 Overseas Expansion Seminar, we will present how to win overseas customers and effective use of overseas Trade shows.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Alex Odajima, CEO of EDGEof INNOVATION, will be invited to share knowledge about developing customers overseas and utilizing overseas exhibitions.
In the latter half of the event, as senior success companies, Mr. Momoro Kaji, Executive Officer (Global Business) of INFORICH inc. and Mr. Yuji Shiraki, Founder & CEO of TECHMAGIC INC, will join us for a panel discussion with facilitation by Mr. Odajima. Mr. Kaji and Mr. Shiraki will share their experiences on how they drew their strategy to win overseas customers and utilized exhibitions in Europe, North America and Asia.

Entering into New York and Silicon Valley
~Comparing the 2 major markets in the US~The X-HUB TOKYO project, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to support the global activities of startups in Tokyo and revitalize the economy of Tokyo while fostering a startup ecosystem through exchanges with startups from overseas that are active globally. The Overseas Expansion Seminar is composed of four sessions in total and is mainly targeted at startups aiming to expand their businesses overseas. Through the seminar, we will share the characteristics of ecosystems by area and the knowledge necessary for overseas expansion.
In the #3 Overseas Expansion Seminar, we will present the characteristics and charms of the New York and Silicon Valley markets.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Tetsuo Oyama, CEO of Skylight America Inc., will be invited to share live information on the market and the latest trends in the US, focusing on the New York and Silicon Valley markets.
In the latter half of the event, as senior success companies, Mr. Kota Kubo, co-founder/CEO of Ubie Inc. which has expanded its business to New York, and Mr. Osamu Iizuka, CEO of Medmain Inc., which has expanded its business to Silicon Valley, will join us for a panel discussion with facilitation by Mr. Oyama. Mr. Kubo and Mr. Iizuka will share their experiences on how they drew their strategy and the support programs they utilized for the expansion.

In the #2 Overseas Expansion Seminar, we will present the characteristics and charms of the UK and European markets.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Naoki Kamimaeda, London Office Representative and Europe Division Head of Global Brain Corporation will be invited to share live information on the market and the latest trends in Europe, including the UK.
In the latter half of the event, as senior success companies, Mr. Yuhei Urabe, Global Business Development Manager of Tenchijin inc. which have expanded the business to Europe, and Ms. Mao Parr, CEO/founder of datagusto,inc., which is relocating their company to London, will join us for a panel discussion with facilitation by Mr. Kamimaeda. Mr. Urabe and Ms. Parr will share their experiences on how they draw the strategy and the support programs they utilized for the expansion.

The #1 Overseas Expansion Seminar will provide insights into the characteristics and appeal of the Southeast Asian market, with a particular focus on Singapore, the leading startup ecosystem in the region, and Indonesia, which has experienced remarkable growth.
During the first half of the event, Mr. Takeshi Ebihara, Rebright Partners Pte Ltd., Founding General Partner, will be invited to share an overview and characteristics of the Southeast Asian ecosystem, as well as key points for expansion.
In the latter half of the event, facilitated by Mr. Ebihara, Mr. Ryo Sueyoshi, Director/Head of Global Business Development at KINS Co., Ltd., and Mr. Shintaro Nakayama, Chief Executive Officer of OUI Inc.,
to will talk about their firsthand experiences and secrets to their success in expanding to Singapore and Indonesia, as well as the challenges they faced along the way.

X-HUB TOKYO Kickoff Event 2024
Changes in the environment surrounding Japanese startups and the futureThe X-HUB TOKYO project, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to support the global activities of startups in Tokyo and revitalize the economy of Tokyo while fostering a startup ecosystem through exchanges with startups from overseas that are active globally. To promote open innovation between startups and large companies and to become a bridge between Japan and other countries, we are holding a variety of events, seminars, and accelerator programs that support startups in expanding their businesses overseas.
At this kick-off event, we will hold a seminar to introduce an overview of the entire project, the situation and changes surrounding startups in Japan, and the importance of considering global business development from the beginning of the business.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Takaaki Umada,Director of FoundX, The University of Tokyo, will give us a talk about "The Future of Japan's Startup Ecosystem," including changes in the environment surrounding Japanese startups and the importance of aiming for overseas expansion with a global perspective from the initial stage.
In the latter half of the event, Mr. Satoshi Konagai, Executive Officer, COO and General Manager of Sales Division of Elephantech Inc., which develops printed electronics manufacturing technology that reduces environmental impact, and Mr. Fumitaka (Taka) Osumi, Director, COO and CFO of Mathmaji Co., Ltd., provides the global math learning app "Mathmaji," which incorporates Japanese-style math education, to the US market. Mr. Yu Sunada, CFO of Spider Labs, Inc., which develops the ad fraud prevention tool SpiderAFwill speak on "Why we have our eyes on the global market."
We look forward to welcoming not only startups interested in overseas expansion, entrepreneurs, and those who are in the concept stage, but also startup supporters and startup-supporting organizations.

Wrap-up Event
Going Global: Startups’ Overseas Expansion Strategies and PracticesThe X-HUB TOKYO program hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government aims at supporting the global activities of startups in Tokyo and stimulating the city's economy through interaction with globally active overseas startups.
Overseas expansion can bring significant benefits to startups, such as burgeoning markets, accessing expanded capital, and building a global brand. On the other hand, the situation around the world presents unprecedented challenges, with complex factors including geopolitical risks such as conflicts, and economic risks such as inflation and the depreciation of the Japanese yen. In this dynamic landscape, flexible strategy formulation and execution are essential for startups to flourish internationally.
In this Wrap-up Event, Prof. Iriyama Akie of Waseda University Business School will provide a keynote speech on the strategy of overseas expansion for startups under the title of "Management for Startups: New Common Sense of Global Strategy." Drawing on cutting-edge research and real-world insight, Prof. Iriyama will illuminate the path for Japanese startups to conquer the global stage.
The Presentation Session will feature startups that have participated in X-HUB's three key programs; the "OUTBOUND PROGRAM," an overseas expansion support program for startups in Tokyo, the "INBOUND PROGRAM," an expansion support program for overseas startups to Tokyo, and the "SCRUM PROGRAM," a support program for startups to acquire essential knowledge and skills necessary for overseas expansion. They will share the benefits and outcomes of the program.
In addition, in the Panel Discussion, more startups from the X-HUB program will share their firsthand experiences of overseas expansions.
Startups that are poised for global success will be speaking at this event.
We welcome not only startups, but also large companies, supporters and institutions who are interested in the trends of startups in Japan and overseas, and anyone who want to learn the know-how of expanding overseas!

The #4 Overseas Expansion Seminar will provide information issues in the early stages of overseas expansion and share insights and real-life experiences of overseas expansion.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Tomoyuki Mizuno, COO of Creww, Inc. will be invited to share useful knowledge focusing on issues that many startups aiming to expand overseas face, such as "understanding local market trends and needs" and "developing and verifying business plans.
In the latter half of the event, Mr. Yusuke Asano, Founder and CEO of ONE ACT, Inc. who has experienced overseas expansion from the early stage of the company's establishment, and Mr. Takao Takahashi, CEO of Impact Circle Inc. will speak about the background of their startups' overseas expansion and how they overcame the difficulties they faced in their efforts to expand overseas, sharing their own experiences.
