The X-HUB TOKYO project, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to support the global activities of startups in Tokyo and revitalize the economy of Tokyo while fostering a startup ecosystem through exchanges with startups from overseas that are active globally. The Overseas Expansion Seminar is composed of four sessions in total and is mainly targeted at startups aiming to expand their businesses overseas. Through the seminar, we will share the characteristics of ecosystems by area and the knowledge necessary for overseas expansion.
In the #２ Overseas Expansion Seminar, we will present the overview of the characteristics and the charms of the UK and Europe, where many attractive ecosystems exist.
In the first half of the event, Mr. Naoki Kamimaeda, Deeptech & Fintech | Cross-Border Investor, will be invited to share live information on the startup ecosystem in the UK and Europe, characteristics of each area, and areas that have recently been attracting attention, as well as other real-time perspectives that will be major hints in drawing up a strategy for expansion.
In the latter half of the event, we will welcome guest speakers from pioneering startups that have successfully expanded into the UK and Europe. Under the facilitation of Mr. Kamimaeda, they will share the appeal and their efforts of entering the UK or European market - perspectives that only those with firsthand experience can offer.

Mr. Naoki Kamimaeda

Founding Partner, Global Brain Europe
Naoki Kamimaeda is a deeptech and fintech-focused cross-border investor. He is the former Partner and Europe Division Head at Global Brain, one of Japan’s largest venture capital firms, where he led investments across Europe. His primary investment focus includes AI, cloud, cybersecurity, fintech, and insurtech.
Earlier in his career, Naoki worked at Sony as a software researcher and engineer specializing in AI/ML and big data technologies. In the final two years of his tenure, he was based in San Francisco as an engineering manager for the PlayStation Network and a member of the PlayStation 4 launch team.
Mr. Atsushi Oguchi
RUN.EDGE Limited
CEO
After graduating from university, Atsushi Oguchi joined Fujitsu, starting his career as an engineer. He gained experience in software development, marketing, and business planning. In 2014, he launched a sports business project, commercializing a video search and analysis service for professional baseball. This led to the establishment of RUN.EDGE Inc. in June 2018, where he serve as President and CEO, focusing on video analysis services.
Mr. Shingo Yanai
Asuene Inc.
Manager, Global Business Development
Shingo Yanai is the Manager of Global Business Development at Asuene Inc.
He previously worked at Toyota Motor Corporation and Boston Consulting Group before joining Asuene.
At Asuene, he leads the company’s international expansion efforts, including strategic planning, operational support for group companies, and global office launches.
He spearheaded the establishment of Asuene’s offices in Bangkok (November 2024) and London (April 2025), and is currently driving the company’s global growth across multiple regions.
