X-HUB TOKYO #1 Overseas Expansion Seminar 2024
Gateway to Southeast Asian Market ~Seizing Success with Expansion into Singapore and Indonesia~

The X-HUB TOKYO project, hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, aims to support the global activities of startups in Tokyo and revitalize the economy of Tokyo while fostering a startup ecosystem through interaction with startups from overseas that are active globally. The Overseas Expansion Seminar is composed of four sessions in total and is mainly targeted at startups aiming to expand their businesses overseas. Through the seminar, we will share the characteristics of ecosystems by area and the knowledge necessary for overseas expansion.

The #1 Overseas Expansion Seminar will provide insights into the characteristics and appeal of the Southeast Asian market, with a particular focus on Singapore, the leading startup ecosystem in the region, and Indonesia, which has experienced remarkable growth.
During the first half of the event, Mr. Takeshi Ebihara, Rebright Partners Pte Ltd., Founding General Partner, will be invited to share an overview and characteristics of the Southeast Asian ecosystem, as well as key points for expansion.

In the latter half of the event, facilitated by Mr. Ebihara, Mr. Ryo Sueyoshi, Director/Head of Global Business Development at KINS Co., Ltd., and Mr. Shintaro Nakayama, Chief Executive Officer of OUI Inc.,
to will talk about their firsthand experiences and secrets to their success in expanding to Singapore and Indonesia, as well as the challenges they faced along the way.

We welcome not only from startups but also from individuals and members of organizations that support them.

Manages an independent venture capital firm specializing in Asia located in Singapore, Bangalore and Tokyo.
Graduated from Yokohama National University and joined JAFCO in 1994.
Founded Rebright Partners, an independent venture capital firm, in 2008.
Moved business location to Singapore in 2011, and started investing in Asian companies.
Certified analyst (CMA) by the Securities Analysts Association of Japan.

At KINS CO., LTD., a biotech startup specializing in the microbiome, Ryo Sueyoshi leads the growth of the clinic and product businesses in China, Taiwan, and Singapore, based in Singapore. Prior to joining KINS, he was engaged in business transformation projects, new business development, and the planning and execution of overseas expansion strategies at Recruit Co., Ltd., and GLOBIS Corporation. Graduated from Waseda University with a Bachelor of Human Sciences, and completed an MBA at Hult International Business School.

Keio University School of Medicine, Researcher in Department of Ophthalmology

After working for Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and Mitsubishi Corporation on infrastructure development in the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America, served as the vice president of the NPO Crossfields, he joined OUI Inc., a Japanese medical startup from Keio University School of Medicine, to lead the business side.
Currently, as COO of OUI Inc., he works on business development both in Japan/ over 25 countries including Indonesia, Mozambique, Kenya, Vietnam, and Brazil in collaboration with medical institutions, government agencies, and international organizations to overcome world blindness.
